Our Wedding :: The Last Dance

It was finally midnight, the end of our reception. My hotel coordinator had just passed out bubbles to everyone. The DJ announced to gather around as Philip and I had our last dance.

The bubbles were fun and everyone got into them.

The song was ending and Philip unexpectedly and romantically started to dip me...

Sweet ending to the night.
{This is the other photo I mentioned that we are framing. Our friend who dabbles in photography took it. It's my favorite of the entire wedding.}

The wedding recaps are now over. I'm actually happy for this. I'm excited to start blogging about what is actually going on in my life now which I think a lot of readers will relate to having just married as well. For those of you still engaged and waiting to wed, I hope you enjoy the content and don't worry, there will be sprinkles of weddingness here and there. I'll also have a honeymoon recap or two before diving into newlywed life.

Is there anything you'd like me to blog about in particular or that you'd like to know? I'll cover it if you'd like me to :)

Our Wedding :: Bouquet & Garter Toss

*Sidenote: Today is Philip's & my 6 month wedding anniversary! We decided for the 1st year of marriage we'd celebrate the half-way mark. After that, it'll be a normal yearly celebration. We're going to have a nice dinner at Ruth Chris. It's hard to believe it's been 6 months already, but we've been very much absorbed in our new lives of marriage with many new things happening. I can't wait to transition this blog into "newlywed" status when the recaps are done and share with you all that is going on! Until then, enjoy the 2nd to last wedding recap!

Getting ready as the girls gather 'round. "Single Ladies" by Beyonce was at the height of popularity, but it was too obvious to me. I had the DJ loop the Sex and the City theme song. It was perfect!

About to toss...

And there it goes! Note everyone in the background watching in anticipation hehe.

Onto the Garter Toss with Mr. P reaching in and putting on a little show ;)

I knew I wanted to do a bouquet toss, but I wasn't sure about the garter toss. When I asked Mr. P if he wanted to {without mentioning my concerns} he said "of course, it's tradition". I didn't want to do the whole raunchy, head up-the-dress type garter toss and that was really my only reason for considering not doing it. When I told Mr. P what I wanted since we'd be in front of family and all, he was completely on board and made it fun, yet respectable.

Did/Do you have any concerns about the garter toss?

We played "I Know What Boys Like" by The Waitresses. Such snooty lyrics, but it was cute in this context especially with it being an 80's song. It was super fun.

Almost off!

Wiggling around his prize.

Mid throw! Wish the actual garter got in the pic, but cute nonetheless.

The winners: a friend & a bridesmaid!

Our Wedding :: The Reception

Our reception flew by and we had so much fun - here are the highlights.

One of my bridesmaids made us take this picture while we were sitting at our table. It's our only other ring shot than the professional one I showed you here. {Which, by the way, from your suggestions, we are framing!}

Bridesmaids and my new sister-in-law in front of the city view.

Starting to get down and belt out some tunes :)

I took my veil off after the Father/Daughter dance to get a different look and also I thought I'd feel more comfortable. But actually, I really didn't notice the veil when it was in. My hair stylist got it in there good. Are you planning on taking your veil off at some point during the wedding? Or did you? What was your reason?

Group shot with the guys! My mom loves it lol.

Simply happy.

This picture is GREAT - My MOH is literally in the middle of a 'talking to' to Mr. P spurred by her tipsyness about how she knows he'll treat me well, but that he better ;) lol. She loves me.

Getting into it! Dancing our little hearts away!

Aw, dancing kisses.

In our own world.

Outside the reception room where the guest book was set up with the leftover favors. Being silly because it was the end of the night.

Our Wedding :: Father/Daughter Dance

I mentioned in one of my first posts about the ceremony that Disney is very special to me and my family. I asked my dad what he would like to dance to for our Father/Daughter dance and after some pondering he decided "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins from the movie Tarzan.

My dad always makes me laugh, even in sentimental moments.

Once the DJ asked everyone to join in dancing, my dad started to tell me that just because I'm married now, doesn't mean him and my mom aren't my parents anymore...

...that they weren't going to stop parenting, or caring, or calling to see what's going on in our lives...

...and after the laughing and sillyness of the conversation subsided, while he was still finishing up his parental "lecture", I knew that masked behind the words, he was trying to hold on.
