Bridesmaid dress decision: DONE.

Mr. P and I bought our first Christmas tree this year. It's artificial so it'll last foreva. The next step were ornaments and I'm telling you, Wal-mart is the best if you're looking for something inexpensive. We got a box of 46 ornaments balls for only $15! Awesome. We went traditional red, green and gold and it turned out great. Say hi to my pup Kobi!

An Atlanta Bride brought up a valid point about my last shoe post that I realized I had not explained at all on here.

I love, love bright royal blue and I started thinking of shoes for me and dresses for my girls in that color, but then one of my bridesmaid's and my mother brought my back down to earth. My dress is a warm tone (a smidge darker than ivory) and I'm trying to express the deep blue in the tip of a peacock feather because they will be in the centerpieces for the reception. Bright royal blue, you're outta there! That's the back story on how bright royal blue went out the window and I realized I needed to tone it down a notch for everything to go together well.

I'm happy about this because when I truly started envisioning the bright royal blue with my dress and other things that've already been picked out, it was not a pretty picture in my head. These deeper tones and hues are going to look much, much better and that is the reason I posted those colors of shoes and just a few minutes ago those colors of dresses.

OK, now everything is out in the open! ;)

I've been looking and looking for bridesmaids dresses that are the color I want AND the price I want! (Deep blue, but not quite navy and under $200.) I found the most fabulous dress at this tiny boutique next to my office. I can't even link to them because they don't have a website, that's how small they are! Problem is that the dress was pure silk, inside and out, at $350 each. I was bummed. But then I went back and asked if we could change the fabric to lessen the cost. They could, to poly-satin, it went down to $225. Okkkaayyy, not horrible, but then I figured in 8% tax and I was bummed again.

Obviously the Priscilla dress is more expensive, but surprisingly it's just within the budget cap WITH tax. I have seen this dress and it's color in person on one of my BM's. I've seen the DB dress in a green color and tried it on myself. I'm going this weekend to DB to see the color. Cross your fingers for me! (It's cheaper! lol.)

The Priscilla dress has a bow in the back which you can see in the video on the site. And the DB dress' bow can be moved to the back if the girls like it better like that.

I found this link while wandering around .classicly modern.'s blog. It's a "Marriage Calculator." What are your chances of getting divorced within 5 years??

Mine are 8%...I was SUPER happy :) but then... I read the "fine print." Oh, that nasty, nasty fine print.

"*In general for the five-year divorce prediction rates, those with less than 3 percent are at lower risk, 3 - 7 percent are of average risk and more than 7 percent are at higher risk."

Ugh. So I'm actually at high risk? Poo.

Okay, I'm not THAT upset because I pretty much boiled it down to where they ask you for your age...mine being 23 probably tacked on the percentage points!

BUT, then I filled it out according to Mr. P's answers...5%! So, I guess we're average - high, haha.

Any others out there at "high risk"? What's your excuse? lol.

I'm struggling finding a bridesmaid dress, but upon my endless internet searching, I came upon The Dessy Group. They do attire, but have other items as well. Check out these precious "Will You Be My Bridesmaid?" cards. Best part: you can purchase them individually! (Why do so many sell in packages of 10?? Will I really use all those cards? NO!)

I finally finished a new Inspiration Board! I love my old one, but this one is definitely more representative of our wedding now. We're going for casually chic with peacock feathers in the decor and rich blue bridesmaid dresses. I'm not 100% in love with the layout of this one, but it works. So do our styles match, or are we completely opposite?? ;)

I met with my florist for the first time right before Thanksgiving. Side note: He is actually kinda cute for an older guy...you know, that sexy bit of gray in the front with the goatee? Small resemblance to Mark Sloan on Grey's Anatomy, but gay. Ha.

ANYWAY, now that I'm not distracted by the holiday and family anymore, I'm getting really anxious to get a quote from him. Everything we discussed came together so well and I think would look absolutely fabulous. Just getting a tad nervous about those dollaz$$. I hate waiting, don't you?

I'm dying here. Royal blue is the primary color now in our color scheme...bridesmaids dress and accents in the reception decor. How cute to have royal blue shoes, right?? I have been looking and looking online and all I've found are these Charles David's for way over my budget at $125. I really only want to spend max $65 (I'll cheat a little if they're absolutly fabulous). And truthfully, I really wanted a peep-toe.

What do you think? Worth it if they're the only ones I can find? Or just get something traditional? Has anyone seen any other fashionable royal blue shoes out there? HELP!
